How to Watch TSN and Sportsnet Without Cable

To watch TSN and Sportsnet without cable, subscribe to TSN's own plans in the TSN app and to Sportsnet+ in the Sportsnet app. Both are sold directly by the broadcasters in Canada, and if your TV package already includes either channel, you can sign in with your TV provider instead.

This guide compares the three routes, shows how to subscribe and activate the apps on your TV, and covers devices and blackouts. It lists no prices: plans change, so check each official page before you pay.

What is the easiest way to watch TSN and Sportsnet without cable?

The simplest route is a direct subscription to each network: a TSN plan from tsn.ca and a Sportsnet+ plan from sportsnetplus.ca. Each works in its own official app on phones, computers, streaming devices and smart TVs in Canada. A TV provider login is the alternative if you already pay for the channels.

How do you subscribe and start watching?

Decide which network carries the games you follow, compare the current plans on the official site, and create an account. Then install the TSN or Sportsnet app from your device's own store and link your TV with the activation code shown on the screen. If a TV provider already pays for the channel, sign in with that login instead.

  1. 1

Pick the network for your sports

Check which network carries your team or league this season. Many fans need both TSN and Sportsnet for a full NHL schedule.

  2. 2

    Compare the current plans

Open tsn.ca/subscribe for TSN and sportsnetplus.ca for Sportsnet+, and read what each plan includes and costs today.

  3. 3

    Create your account and subscribe

Sign up on the website or buy inside the app. If your TV package already includes the channel, skip payment and use the TV provider option.

  4. 4

    Install the official app

Search for TSN or Sportsnet in your TV or device's own app store and install the app from Bell Media or Rogers.

  5. 5

Activate the app on your TV

Open the app, choose sign in, and enter the code shown on screen at tsn.ca/activate or watch.sportsnet.ca/activate (watch.sportsnet.ca/tv for TV provider logins) from a phone or computer.

  6. 6

    Start watching

Open the live tab or schedule and pick a game. Expect blackouts for some NHL regional games, as explained below.

What do TSN's own plans include?

TSN sells two plans on its subscribe page. The standard plan streams the five live TSN feeds, with the NFL, CFL, NBA, F1, golf majors, tennis Grand Slams and select Leafs, Canadiens, Senators and Jets regular-season games inside their regions. The higher plan adds extras such as NFL RedZone and PGA Tour Live.

TSN's help FAQ says one account can stream on two screens at once, subscriptions are not refundable and can be cancelled anytime, and bundles with Crave or RDS are only offered when you subscribe directly with TSN.

What does Sportsnet+ include?

Sportsnet+ is Rogers' streaming service for the Sportsnet channels. Its standard plan covers national NHL games, including Monday and Saturday night hockey, plus Blue Jays and MLB games and Raptors and NBA games. A premium plan adds out-of-market NHL games, and a bundle pairs Sportsnet+ with the Citytv+ entertainment app.

Sportsnet+ also sells UFC pay-per-view events. Plans, events and terms are listed on sportsnetplus.ca, and app help is in the Sportsnet+ support centre.

Can you sign in with a TV provider instead?

Yes. If your TV package includes TSN or Sportsnet, you can stream in the same apps without a separate plan. In the TSN app, choose Sign in Through TV Provider and link a Bell Media account. In the Sportsnet app, pick Sign In With TV Provider and finish at watch.sportsnet.ca/tv on another screen.

Sportsnet lists Rogers, Shaw, Telus, Bell, Source, SaskTel and Cogeco among the TV providers that include Sportsnet+. Ask your provider which streams your package unlocks.

Which devices support the TSN and Sportsnet apps?

Both apps run on iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, on the web, and on Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV and Samsung smart TVs. TSN also lists Roku, LG TVs, Chromecast, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Sportsnet+ supports newer Fire TV models only, so check your model before subscribing.

If you are setting up a new screen, our Firestick, Apple TV, Smart TV and Chromecast guides cover the basics, and apps by device lists each platform. Always install the TSN and Sportsnet apps from the device's official store.

Can you watch TSN and Sportsnet outside Canada?

No. Both services are licensed for Canada only, and the apps check your location before they play live streams. Inside Canada, regional NHL blackouts still apply: TSN shows its regional games only within each team's region, and Sportsnet may black out or swap some games because of rights limits.

Should you choose TSN, Sportsnet+ or both?

Pick by league. TSN is the home of the NFL, CFL, F1, golf majors and tennis Grand Slams, while Sportsnet+ carries the Blue Jays, national NHL games such as Saturday and Monday night hockey, and many Raptors games. Hockey fans often need both because regional and national games are split between the two networks.

Monthly plans make it easy to subscribe for a season and cancel after it ends. Check each service's renewal and refund terms on its official page first.

Quick answers

Is Sportsnet Now the same as Sportsnet+?

Yes. Rogers renamed its streaming service from Sportsnet NOW (SN NOW) to Sportsnet+ in 2023. Old app listings and articles may still use the earlier name.

What happened to TSN+?

TSN launched TSN+ in 2023 as an extra streaming tier. The old tsn.ca/tsn+ address now opens the TSN plans page, where extras such as PGA Tour Live and NFL RedZone sit in the higher TSN plan.

Can I stream TSN without cable?

Yes. TSN sells plans directly at tsn.ca/subscribe or through in-app purchase, so you do not need a cable or satellite package. You still need a Canadian location and an internet connection.

Can I watch TSN and Sportsnet on a Firestick?

Yes. Both apps are in the Amazon Appstore. Sportsnet+ lists the Fire TV Stick 3rd gen, 4K, Lite and Cube as supported and says 1st and 2nd gen sticks are not, so check your model first.

Do NHL blackouts apply without cable?

Yes. Regional NHL blackouts apply to streaming as they do on TV. TSN's regional games are only available inside each team's region, and Sportsnet may black out or replace some games because of rights limits.

Direct answers

What is an IPTV app?

An IPTV app is the programme on your TV stick, smart TV, or phone that logs into your IPTV service, shows a guide, and plays live or on demand video. The app is not the channels themselves. Your provider supplies the service you sign into. This site explains how to choose and install players. It does not publish playlists.

Do you rank a number one IPTV app?

No. This site does not publish a number one rank or star scores. The shortlist, without ranks, is 7 MOTION TV, Zuno TV as a separate app, TiViMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, Smart IPTV, and GSE Smart IPTV. Always confirm which players your own IPTV provider supports before you install.

Which player do you feature?

7 MOTION TV is the featured recommendation for Fire Stick, Android TV, Google TV, and Android phones or tablets only. The exact Google Play title is Lecteur IPTV – 7 MOTION. It is not featured for Apple TV or as the Samsung and LG store pick. Setup still depends on your provider.

What about Samsung or LG TVs?

On Samsung and LG sets, start with Smart IPTV when it is in the TV store and your provider supports it. 7 MOTION TV is not the built in smart TV lead on this site. If the store listing is missing or the TV feels slow, add a Fire Stick or Android stick instead of modifying the TV.

What about Apple TV?

Apple TV uses the App Store, not Android packages. This site does not feature 7 MOTION TV on tvOS. Start with an App Store player your provider lists, often GSE Smart IPTV, and check availability in your country. AirPlay from iPhone or iPad is the fallback when a native tvOS app is missing.

Can I use Chromecast for IPTV?

Yes, in two ways. Classic Chromecast dongles are cast from a phone on the same Wi Fi. Chromecast with Google TV and Google TV Streamer can install apps, including featured 7 MOTION TV when your provider supports it. This site does not publish a fake number one Chromecast app.

Does this site publish prices, channel counts, or bitrates?

No. This site does not publish IPTV subscription prices, channel counts, bitrates, or a minimum bandwidth. A free trial length is also not stated here, because trial terms depend on your provider. For player setup help, message us on WhatsApp.

What is activation code 3717996?

Provider activation code 3717996, sometimes labeled Suno by resellers, is an IPTV or downloader setup path for Lecteur IPTV – 7 MOTION. It is not the Play app Suno AI Music. Enter it only in the IPTV player flow your seller documented. The Suno IPTV code page explains why this code is not a music app unlock.

What is Zuno?

Zuno is an IPTV application. We do not sell channels. This site sells only the app: no channels, no playlists, and no subscriptions are included on the Zuno page. The installable file is the official zuno-tv.apk from the GitHub release. No public playlist is included.

Is sideloading an IPTV app safe?

Only when you install a package your provider authorises, and only when unknown sources is limited to a trusted installer such as Downloader on Fire Stick. Prefer the Amazon Appstore, Google Play, the TV brand store, or the Apple App Store when the app is listed. This site does not promote cracked or pirated apps.
